| Customer Reviews: Works Great March 15, 2007 Nicholas M. Folts (Boston, MA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This Yakima roof rack system works great and I highly recommend it. I bought one for my Mazda 3 and have use it, along with a Yakima roof rack for 2 cross country ski trips (I live a Florida, skiing is far away). The rack hasn't shifted an inch and was relatively easy to install. Yakima has a product guide on their site to make sure you order the right pieces for your model car.
Premium bars, premium price May 30, 2009 Scott Stevenson Thick walled steel tubes, no worries about strength. As others mention, the plastic end caps don't come with the bars, rather with the towers. Price seems high for steel tubes, but what do I know.
Love my Yakima Set! May 15, 2010 Thomas J. Larson (Omaha) These cross bars worked great on my minivan, and I have been nothing but impressed with the quality of Yakima products. These are easy to install (with the clips and towers, purchased separately) and hold a lot of weight. Very good for family vacations!
No End Caps July 7, 2008 H. More (Portland, Maine USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you order these loadbars from Amazon, be aware that they do not come with any end caps. You definitely need the end caps to keep out water and grit. So, make sure to also buy end caps.
Down the Road... July 14, 2009 tommy potatoes I am reinstalling my 20 year old rack right now, using the rail grabbers, since I had the original SKS towers. I had the end caps installed since day one, but when I tried to remove them, they were welded into the tubes with rust. I managed to cut one off the end of each tube, to get the old towers off, but it's pretty unlikely that I will go to all the trouble of replacing all the end caps on these tubes. If I can get another year or so of service out of them, I won't be complaining too much, except for Yak's way of occasionally discontinuing some products (like my SKS towers), which made me unable to use the system for several years, while I had other cars.
